For torturous commutes.
For parking tickets and unceasing bad luck.
For lost strangers who ask for directions.
For that one person in a drive-thru who orders 15 different drinks.

Sometimes, we need a reminder of how to breathe, and that comes in the form of serendipitous moments that steal the sound from the air. I've had some of my best smiles and sighs stuck in traffic, and it's all because the world surprised me in that moment with how much dormant beauty I was missing out on; the crickets talking to the birds at noon, as if they had a leftover conversation that carried on from the dawn chorus; the bittersweet way the trees of your most frequented roads start changing colours like how your childhood pets start growing grey hairs. If it weren't for these things we call "inconveniences," I don't think I would have as many memories, the things we call "life." In other words, "Winter must be cold for those with no warm memories. We've already missed the Spring," and there goes summer, so l guess your last chance is to savour fall. Don't miss it.
